Large Ball Mill Accessories - Partition Plates Category: Ball Mill Accessories, Wear-resistant Parts | Date: May 16, 2025 The partition plate is a key sorting component inside the ball mill. Through scientifically designed grates, it controls the flow of materials, achieving an optimized ratio between the coarse and fine grinding chambers, rationally distributing the grinding energy of each chamber, preventing overgrinding, intercepting large particle impurities, and preventing large-scale ball mills. Main applications: Large ball mills, cement mills (raw material mills/cement mills), mining mills (ore dressing/tailings treatment), special powder production lines Main materials: high chromium cast iron, alloy steel, composite materials
Product Details
Main materials: high chromium cast iron, alloy steel, composite materials
High-chromium cast iron
is a high-performance wear-resistant material. Its typical composition includes a chromium content of 15-30%, along with alloy elements such as molybdenum and nickel. This material exhibits the following remarkable characteristics: 1) Extremely high wear resistance, with a hardness of up to HRC 58-65, and its wear resistance is 5-8 times that of ordinary steel; 2) Excellent corrosion resistance, as the dense oxide film formed by chromium can effectively resist the erosion of acidic and alkaline media; 3) Good high-temperature stability, maintaining high hardness even at 600°C conditions; 4) The microstructure contains a large amount of M7C3 type carbides, with a microhardness of up to HV 1500-1800. However, its impact toughness is relatively low (ak ≥ 8J/cm²), making it more suitable for medium and low impact, high wear conditions, such as ball mill liners and rolls.
Wear-resistant parts can further enhance their comprehensive performance by optimizing the carbon-chromium ratio and heat treatment process.
Alloy steel
Alloy steel enhances its overall performance by adding elements such as Cr and Mo. Its hardness can reach HB280-400, and it has good weldability and economy. Its bainite structure performs exceptionally well under medium impact conditions, but has limited resistance to severe impact. It is suitable for parts such as the second compartment liner of a ball mill that do not require high toughness, and has a prominent cost-performance advantage.
Composite materials
By adopting an innovative laminated structure design, through the composite stacking of metal matrix (usually high-toughness alloy steel) and high-molecular wear-resistant materials (such as polyurethane, ceramics or rubber), the performance is synergistically optimized: the metal layer provides structural strength and impact resistance (impact resistance value ≥ 50J/cm²), while the wear-resistant layer endows ultra-high surface hardness (HRC 60-65) and anti-sticking properties, and the intermediate buffer layer can effectively absorb vibration energy (noise reduction of over 15 decibels). This combination enables the product to have the mechanical strength of traditional metal materials and the corrosion resistance and low friction characteristics of polymer materials, especially suitable for working conditions with high humidity, strong corrosion or strict requirements for environmental protection and quietness. The overall service life is increased by 2-3 times compared to a single metal material, and the weight is reduced by 30%-40%, significantly reducing installation and maintenance costs.
