Main material
Alloy steel
Alloy steel is enhanced by adding elements such as Cr and Mo to improve its overall performance. Its hardness can reach HB280-400, and it has good weldability and economy. Its bainite structure performs well under medium impact conditions, but has limited resistance to severe impact and is suitable for areas with low requirements for toughness such as the second compartment liner of ball mills, presenting a significant cost-performance advantage. High-chromium cast iron
It is a high-performance wear-resistant material, with its typical composition consisting of 15-30% chromium and additional alloy elements such as molybdenum and nickel. This material exhibits the following remarkable characteristics: 1) Extremely high wear resistance, with a hardness of up to HRC 58-65, and its wear resistance is 5-8 times that of ordinary steel; 2) Excellent corrosion resistance, as the dense oxide film formed by chromium can effectively resist acid and alkali media erosion; 3) Good high-temperature stability, maintaining high hardness at 600°C conditions; 4) The structure contains a large amount of M7C3 type carbides, with a microhardness of up to HV 1500-1800. However, its impact toughness is relatively low (ak ≥ 8J/cm²), making it more suitable for medium-low impact and high wear conditions, such as ball mill liners and rolling mill rolls.
Wear-resistant parts can be further enhanced in their overall performance by optimizing the carbon-chromium ratio and heat treatment process.
Ultra-high manganese
It is a wear-resistant material that achieves performance breakthroughs through component optimization and process innovation. Its core characteristics are: the manganese content is increased to 18%-25% and 2%-3% chromium is added. While maintaining the excellent impact toughness of traditional high-manganese steel (ak ≥ 100J/cm²), through multi-stage reverse phase transformation heat treatment, the initial hardness is increased to HB 280-320, and the surface hardness after impact can exceed HB 600. Its unique nanoscale dislocation entanglement structure and dispersed distributed microalloyed carbides enable it to have 40%-50% higher wear resistance than traditional Mn13 manganese steel under extreme impact conditions, while improving the deformation resistance by 60%, making it particularly suitable for large semi-autogenous grinding machine liners, crusher jaw plates, and other super-high impact wear components that handle extremely hard ores.
