High manganese steel
High manganese steel is an alloy steel with a carbon content ranging from 1.0% to 1.3%, and containing 11% to 14% manganese. It is renowned for its excellent wear resistance and work hardening ability. When subjected to impact or pressure, the surface of high manganese steel rapidly hardens to form a very hard layer, while the interior still retains a certain degree of toughness. This characteristic makes high manganese steel highly suitable for manufacturing parts that withstand high impact loads, such as the jaws of jaw crushers, the teeth of excavators, railway switches, and grinding machine linings, etc.
